• Carbon Carnegie Coming Closer

Excuse the alliteration – a really lazy form of headline writing – but here are the first pics of the carbon carnegies in their painted version. We’re doing a raw naked version too, but these are a bit more palatable. All of them have TWO layers of genuine DuPont Kevlar on the outside to guard against scratches and surface damage. Though we’ve wrapped an additional 3k layer around the bit you trim at the end, to stop them fraying (it’s complicated but trust me).

We hope to have these in stock at our dealers in a couple of weeks – Mid to Late May.

Is the raw a black or green color?

Is there any way to remove the decals? Will it void warranty?

  • brant 4:32 pm on May 13, 2010 | #

The raw is a raw kevlar carbon finish with matt clearcoat.

Decals are waterslide under laquer. Removing them would affect the warranty and probably the bars structural integrity.

This is THE BAR I’ve been looking for. Currently running cheap 25.4 clamp dia. on an old steel fixie conversion comfortable road riding on dirt, climbs, hampster wheel descents, 70+ miles comfortably. Now searching for a more modern light weight 31.8 clamp dia. version. ME WANT!

Was just about to order a 7075 version until I spotted these.

Will you be doing both versions i.e. flat & rise in carbon?

Love the look but still a little nervous about “boutique” carbon bars – how are yours tested?

  • Brant 7:49 am on November 11, 2010 | #

We ride them lots, and subject them to CEN test standards too. We’re 100% happy.

Any idea if it would be ok to put aero bars on there, ie more clamping just outside of the stem clamp area. I realize that no manufacturer would say hey sure, but how far does the stem clamp reinforement go outward? Sorry about the long winded question, thinking of using these on Tour Divide? Thanks Jefe

Hi. Carbon Carnegie listed “discontinued” on CRC, why?
No more carbon carnegie’s or you simply develop a new version ?
