The weight listed applies to a complete bike that we have weighed when it was fully assembled and without pedals. If you are going through manufacturer and component websites using the weights they specify for different components to add up the total weight; this will not be as accurate as building the bike and weighing it.
It is entirely possible that if we had used a different batch of the same components listed here that the weight may have been more (or less) due to variation in weights as a result of more/less paint or material used in their makeup. Similarly, our frame will vary in weight slightly between models which is normal. Anything around 26lbs to 28lbs can be considered light enough for a hardtail bike designed for all round trail use with a modestly long travel fork (130mm).

I’m about to order the X9 but am having a hard time with sizing. I’m 6’3″ but I want the bike to have a much more nimble/playful feel so I’m wondering whether to go for the Medium for a lower standover height.
